Look development for a short set in space.
︎ A world shader creates the star system
︎ Hand-tuned noise shaders for every material
︎ I actually drew the saucer and flag on a Post-It before starting
︎ Lens distortion and halation in the Blender compositor create a pleasing glow
︎ Evee in Blender 4.4 renders a 4k frame in < 1 sec — much faster than Cycles!

Applying noise to a volume in Blender results in turbulent, abstract images. You can push the node tree to make things look more organic, like blood.

I was working on a story about a musical duo island-hopping across a flooded post-apocalyptic world searching for their perfect drummer. When they finally find one, their chemistry together proves as challenging as the quest itself.
These are test shots of the duo's island studio. I applied a Kuwahara filter in Blender's compositor to soften Cycles's digital edge. Day/night lighting variations require separate node trees—a cumbersome workflow with 1-minute+ render times per frame on a 4070 GPU. Kuwahara’s pretty fast though.
The Eameses never designed a guitar amp or chalkboard table, but I tried to channel their spirit in my prop designs.

My first animation, a walk cycle.
I modeled and rigged Ella here in Blender, gradually changing her proportions to be more posable. She has a bit of a waddle, which I find charming.

I wondered if I could rough out a story by designing a couple characters and props and arranging them in front of the camera. The answer: yes, but it’s a lot of effort upfront.
